Rejected by Your In-Laws
Slide #1: One of marriage’s
toughest issues is trouble with In-Laws.
Slide #2: The problem can either draw your marriage together or tear
it apart.
Slide #3: The Scripture offers guidance to help us respond in a Christ-like
way.
Slide #4: We are to life-long honor our father and mother (and our spouse’s).
Slide #5: We are also to leave our families and cleave to our spouse
(giving them now first loyalty and devotion).
Slide #6: We should apologize if we’ve wronged our in-laws.
Slide #7: If a confrontation is necessary we should speak the truth in
love.
Slide #8: We should make every effort to be at peace -- but if they
won’t
reciprocate we are free to move on.
Slide #9: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother
and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” Genesis
2:21
