How to Quit Fighting For Good

Slide #1: While disagreements and conflicts always occur in a marriage, there is no need for acrimony and fighting.

Slide #2: Admit that fighting, shouting, and name-calling are childish behaviors.

Slide #3: Ask your partner's forgiveness for acting like a child (and treating them like one).

Slide #4: Affirm that love for each other is more important than winning a fight.

Slide #5: Address each issue by first listening and seeking to understand your partner.

Slide #6: Assert your perspective in a calm voice starting with where you both agree.

Slide #7: Allocate time to re-visit the issue later if you don't come to agreement (or if you
feel anger rising).

Slide #8: Act like loving adults to each other at all times.

Slide #9: "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reaseoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me." 1 Corinthians 13:11
