Psalm 90
God is Forever - Man's Short Life
1Lord, You have been the place of comfort for all people of all time.
2Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, forever and ever, You are God.
3You change man into dust again, and say, 'Return, O children of men.'
4For a thousand years in Your eyes are like yesterday when it passes by, or like the hours of the night.
5You carry men away as with a flood. They fall asleep. In the morning they are like the new grass that grows.
6It grows well in the morning, but dries up and dies by evening.
7For we are burned up by Your anger. By Your anger we are troubled and afraid.
8You have set our wrongdoing before You, our secret sins in the light of Your face.
9For all our days pass away in Your anger. We finish our years with a quiet cry.
10The days of our life are seventy years, or eighty if we have the strength. Yet the best of them are only hard work and sorrow. For they are soon gone and we fly away.
11Who understands the power of Your anger? Your anger is as great as the fear that we should have for You.
12Teach us to understand how many days we have. Then we will have a heart of wisdom to give You.
13Return, O Lord. How long will it be? Have pity upon those who work for You.
14Fill us in the morning with Your loving-kindness. Let us sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15Make us glad for as many days as You have made us suffer, and for the years we have seen trouble.
16Let Your work be shown to Your servants. And let Your wonderful greatness be shown to their children.
17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And make the work of our hands stand strong. Yes, make the work of our hands stand strong.
Psalm 91
The Lord - The One We Trust
1He who lives in the safe place of the Most High will be in the shadow of the All.
2I will say to the Lord, 'You are my safe and strong place, my God, in Whom I trust.'
3For it is He Who takes you away from the trap, and from the killing sickness.
4He will cover you with His wings. And under His wings you will be safe. He is faithful like a safe-covering and a strong wall.
5You will not be afraid of trouble at night, or of the arrow that flies by day.
6You will not be afraid of the sickness that walks in darkness, or of the trouble that destroys at noon.
7A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand. But it will not come near you.
8You will only look on with your eyes, and see how the sinful are punished.
9Because you have made the Lord your safe place, and the Most High the place where you live,
10nothing will hurt you. No trouble will come near your tent.
11For He will tell His angels to care for you and keep you in all your ways.
12They will hold you up in their hands. So your foot will not hit against a stone.
13You will walk upon the lion and the snake. You will crush under your feet the young lion and the snake.
14Because he has loved Me, I will bring him out of trouble. I will set him in a safe place on high, because he has known My name.
15He will call upon Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will take him out of trouble and honor him.
16I will please him with a long life. And I will show him My saving power.
Psalm 92
A Song Of Praise
1It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and sing praises to Your name, O Most High.
2It is good to tell of Your loving-kindness in the morning, and of how faithful You are at night,
3with harps, and with music of praise.
4For You have made me glad by what You have done, O Lord. I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.
5How great are Your works, O Lord! How deep are Your thoughts!
6A man who cannot reason does not have much learning. A fool does not understand this.
7Even if the sinful grow up like grass and all goes well with wrong, they will be destroyed forever.
8But You, O Lord, rule from Your high place forever.
9For, look, those who hate You will be lost from You forever, O Lord. All those who do wrong will be destroyed.
10But You have lifted up my horn like that of a wild bull. New oil has been poured upon me.
11My eyes have seen those who wait to hurt me. My ears hear the bad men who rise up against me.
12The man who is right and good will grow like the palm tree. He will grow like a tall tree in Lebanon.
13Planted in the house of the Lord, they will grow well in the home of our God.
14They will still give fruit when they are old. They will be full of life and strength.
15And they will show that the Lord is faithful. He is my rock. There is nothing in Him that is not right and good.
Psalm 93
God Is King
1The Lord rules. He is dressed with great power. The Lord has dressed Himself with strength. For sure, the world is built to last. It will not be moved.
2Your throne is set up from long ago. You have always been.
3The floods have lifted up, O Lord. The floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their beating waves.
4The Lord on high is more powerful than the sound of many waters and the strong waves of the sea.
5Your Word is very sure. O Lord, Your house is holy forever.
Psalm 94
God Judges
1O Lord, the God Who punishes, God Who punishes, let Your light shine!
2Rise up, You Judge of the earth. Pay what is owed to the proud.
3How long will the sinful, O Lord, how long will the sinful be full of joy?
4They pour out proud words. All those who do wrong, talk about themselves as if they are great people.
5They crush Your people, O Lord. They bring trouble upon Your chosen nation.
6They kill the woman whose husband has died and the stranger. They kill the children who have no parents.
7And they say, 'The Lord does not see. The God of Jacob does not care.'
8Listen, you foolish ones among the people. You fools, when will you understand?
9He Who made the ear, does He not hear? He Who made the eye, does He not see?
10He Who punishes nations so they might give up sin, will He not speak strong words to them? Is He not the One Who teaches man all he knows?
11The Lord knows the thoughts of man. He knows that they are empty.
12Happy is the man who is punished until he gives up sin, O Lord, and whom You teach from Your Law.
13You give him rest from days of trouble, until a hole is dug for the sinful.
14For the Lord will not turn away from His people. He will not leave His chosen nation.
15For what is decided will be right and good. And all those whose hearts are right will follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the sinful? Who will take a stand for me against those who do wrong?
17If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have been among the dead.
18When I said, 'My foot is going out from under me,' Your loving-kindness held me up, O Lord.
19When my worry is great within me, Your comfort brings joy to my soul.
20Can a sinful throne that brings trouble by its laws be a friend to You?
21They join together against the life of those who are right and good. They send those who are not guilty to their death.
22But the Lord has been my strong place, my God, and the rock where I am safe.
23He has brought back their own sin upon them and will destroy them for their wrong. The Lord our God will destroy them.
Psalm 95
A Song Of Praise
1Come, let us sing with joy to the Lord. Let us sing loud with joy to the rock Who saves us.
2Let us come before Him giving thanks. Let us make a sound of joy to Him with songs.
3For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4The deep places of the earth are in His hand. And the tops of the mountains belong to Him.
5The sea is His, for He made it. And His hands made the dry land.
6Come, let us bow down in worship. Let us get down on our knees before the Lord Who made us.
7For He is our God. And we are the people of His field, and the sheep of His hand. If you hear His voice today,
8do not let your hearts become hard as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the place where no people live.
9Your early fathers put Me to the test and tried Me. But they had seen the work I did.
10I was angry with the people of that day for forty years. I said, 'They always think wrong thoughts. And they do not know My ways.'
11I was angry with them and said, 'They will never go into My rest.'
