Infant Elisabeth Jernigan was diagnosed with a deadly brain cancer. Elisabeth's parents, Betsy and Leonard, and their whole church prayed for the child. Prior to surgery to install a shunt in her skull to relieve fluid pressure, the family gathered around Elisabeth with a minister who anointed Elisabeth with oil and prayed for her healing. During surgery the doctors could find no evidence of the cancer. Today, Jennie is a healthy adult with no sign of disease. (Time, April 10, 1995)
