Jesus said, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32
During the first years in Calcutta, Mother Teresa often felt abandoned by God. Teresa wrote in her diary, “I wandered the streets the whole day. My feet are aching, and I have not been able to find a home. And I also get the Tempter telling me, 'Leave all this, go back to the convent from which you came.'” Teresa resisted the temptation to return home, and the rest is history. The religious order she founded, the Missionaries of Charity, annually feeds 500,000 families, treats 90,000 leprosy patients, and educates 20,000 children. (Kevin Miller)
