Sing to Him a new song. PSALM 33:3 NIV
Rhythm and blues performer, R. Kelly, was rising to the top of his profession, singing songs that glorified sin and sex. Kelly had grown up in a strong church background, but he wandered into a lifestyle filled with cars, women, and money. The death of his mother and other events propelled Kelly to reevaluate his relationship to God. He began singing for the Lord. In response to the success of his hit, I Believe I Can Fly from the movie Space Jam, Kelly said, "Every day I seem to be falling in love with the Lord. I have come to find out that whatever it is you want, it's in the Lord. I used to be flying in sin. Now I am flying in Jesus."
What's your flight pattern? Are you flying in sin or in the Lord? Sin and all its trap-pings will never fill the hole in your heart. Living for yourself will only leave you empty. God made you for Himself. The first place in your life is reserved for Jesus. Ask Christ to come into your life today. He'll h...[more details]

Prophesy to the bones. Tell these dry bones to listen to the word of the Lord ... I'm going to put breath into you and bring you back to life. EZEKIEL 37:4- 5 NASB
The mailman left a large box on the front porch. The plants we ordered had finally arrived. The magazine ad promised plants for e n o u g h flowers to fill a large garden with beautiful perennials. When we opened the box, we were surprised to see a lot of dried up roots and stems. I felt cheated. There was no way this petrified stuff could produce the lush garden pictured in the sales piece. I wanted a refund. Fortunately, my wife calmed me down and planted them. A few months later, the north side of our house was bursting with beautiful red, white, and blue blooms. (Steve Klipowicz)

Both riches and honor come from Thee, and Thou dost rule over all, and in Thy hand is power and might; it lies in Thy hand to make great and to strengthen every-one. 1CHRONICLES 29:12 NASB
The culture of the Mazatec Indians in Southwestern Mexico includes a concept of 'limited good.' They believe that there is only so much good, so much knowledge, and so much love to go around. Therefore, to instruct another person means you might drain yourself of knowledge. To love a second child means you have to love the first child less. To wish someone well, as in "have a good day," means you have given away some of your own happiness, which cannot be re-acquired. [Bernie May, Learning to Trust]
How big is your pie of life? Don't let a concept of limited good shrink your giving to others. Faith acknowledges the Lord as its source. It is God who supplies what you need. At the next opportunity to help someone else, cut a big slice.

How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? HEBREWS 2:3 NIV
Geologists came up to Uncle Harry's house on Spirit Lake for the third time that week. Every time before, they tried to persuade the elderly man to evacuate the area. A nearby mountain showed distinct volcanic activity and could erupt any day. Uncle Harry had lived on that lake for over fifty years. He heard similar warnings many times and nothing came of them. Uncle Harry told the scientists he wouldn't move an inch. Two days later, Uncle Harry was never seen again. He was buried by tons of ash and lava when Mt. St. Helens blew its top.
Don't ignore God's warning. One day, He will judge every person and punish all sin. Today is the day of salvation. Accept His offer of forgiveness through Jesus, His Son and escape the coming judgment. Get to a safe place while you can!
POWER POINT: It does not require a decision to go to hell.

Mary's five-year-old granddaughter, Julie, was playing T-ball for the first time. After her first game, Julie came to visit with her parents. Grandma smiled at Julie in her ball hat. "Did you hit the ball when you went up to bat?" asked Grandma. "Yeah! I hit it a long way!" Julie replied excitedly. "Well, did you run the bases, too?" continued Mary. "Yeah and I got all the way to third base." "Then, did you get to go home?" Grandma prompted. "Only after the game was over!" said the little girl.
Does your life have a final destination? Do you know where you will go when you die? Jesus came to bring you eternal life. Accept Jesus today. Make sure you find home after the game is over.

I, even I, am he that blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. ISAIAH 43:25 NASB
Jerry Bridges tells of his friend who was born in Canada. As a young man, he was arrested while doing a juvenile prank and was charged with a crime. The criminal charge remained on the man's record into adult life when he received a Queen's pardon. The pardon erased the deed as if it never had been committed.
God's forgiveness is complete and final. As a result of Christ's death on the cross, God has erased all your sins from the permanent record. You have been forgiven and your sins will never be held against you. You have received the benefits of the King's pardon.

For the message of the cross is foolish-ness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18 NASB
During World War II, a G.I. was caught in an enemy artillery barrage. With the shells exploding all around him, the infantryman dove into a fox hole and started digging in. In the loose dirt, the soldier touched a piece of metal. It was a silver cross. Suddenly, someone else jumped into the hole for protection. The soldier looked through the dust and saw it was an army chaplain. The G.I. thrust the cross into the minister's face and said, "Hey, I'm so glad to see you. How does this thing work anyway?"
Do you know the power of the cross? The real power of the cross comes from faith in the saving work of Christ who died for you. The cross that really matters is not one you wear around your neck, but the one you put in your heart.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross. HEBREWS 12:2 KJV
An old English farmer, walking with a friend, exclaimed to his companion, "You know, I was saved by my good looks." His skeptical friend asked the farmer to explain himself. "Well when I was young, I heard an evangelist preach from Isaiah 45:22 describing how Jesus was the divine substitute taking upon Himself the sins of the whole world. Then the preacher pointed to Hebrews 12:2 and told how Jesus saves all who personally come to Him. When I saw the Lord in this way, I received Him as my savior. My good looks at Jesus and His cross resulted in my conversion!"

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1JOHN 1:9 NIV
A church choir was raising money to attend a music competition. To raise more money, they decided to hold a car wash. It was a hot, sunny day when they started. By the afternoon, it had clouded up and a steady rain began to fall. The cars stopped coming. Finally, one of the women printed a poster reading "WE WASH". On the bottom of the sign, with an arrow point-ed toward heaven, it read, "HE RINSES!"
Have you been accumulating a little road dirt lately? Even with you best efforts, you may sin and feel dirty with guilt. The grime of sin can only be rinsed away by the Blood of Jesus. If you simply confess your sins to the Lord, He will wash away all your sins. Nothing drives better than a clean heart.

He expected to see Ahmad's broken and fractured body. To his surprise, he found that Ahmad was all right. At the exact moment Ahmad fell, a shepherd was driving a flock of sheep under the scaffolding. Ahmad fell on the back of one of the sheep, killing it, but saving him. Ahmad got up and looked at the lifeless animal and sighed, "It died for me!"

And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for them-selves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2CORINTHIANS 5:15 NIV
The German artist Sternberg struggled to complete his portrait of the Crucifixion. One day, a model for another painting gazed at the unfinished painting. "He must have been a very bad man to have died for all men. Did He die for you?" asked the puzzled model. This question made a profound impression upon the artist; he did not know the Lord as his personal Savior. In his search f o r an answer, he came to faith in Christ. Sternberg completed his painting of the Crucifixion and under it wrote a question Christ asks each of us: "This I did for thee; what hast thou done for Me?"
