Rockford TLN TV51 Goes Cable Only

For eight years, TLN TV51 has provided 24 hours a day, faith-based television to Rockford through cable television as well over the air broadcast. TLN TV51 is owned and operated by The Total Living Network (TLN), a not-for-profit religious company with its headquarters in Aurora, Illinois.

As of September 30, 2008, TLN TV51 will transition from a broadcast /cable channel in Rockford (51/15) to Comcast Digital Cable channel 138. This is in keeping with the
government’s February 2009 digital mandate for television broadcasters to convert from their current analogue signals to digital television technology. As of the 30th, TLN TV51 will no longer be seen on its broadcast channel 51, but can be found on Comcast Digital Cable channel 138.

“We remain committed to the Rockford market, but the move from broadcast to cable will allow us to make better use of our resources while continuing to provide faith and values programming to Rockford and the surrounding areas”, says Jerry Rose, President of TLN. “As an organization, we believe in staying current with technology and appreciate the opportunity to do so with Comcast Digital Cable.”

People watching TLN on Comcast channel 15 will see little change in the next few months. However, people watching TLN on broadcast channel 51 will need to subscribe to Comcast’s digital basic service. Comcast may be contacted at 1 888 4 BEST TV (1-888-423-7888).
