The purpose of the Total Living Network has always been the same: to be a positive spiritual force in the communities we serve by directing people to Christ, by offering opportunities for spiritual growth through our 24 hour media ministry and by being a place to go for answers to spiritual questions. Your faithful financial and prayer support over the years has made this possible, and we’re grateful.
When we first launched the ministry in 1975, the only way we could achieve our mission was through a broadcast channel. At that time in Chicago there were eight television channels and we became number nine. There was no cable, no internet, no satellite and no smartphones through which our ministry was available to share the gospel message. But even with those limitations we heard from thousands of viewers who shared wonderful testimonies of having found Christ, who grew into spiritual maturity and became productive members of a local church. In 1975 it was hard to imagine that we would have the vast range of opportunities to share the gospel that are available to us today. Now we provide our solid biblical teaching as well as inspirational, motivational and informative programming on all electronic devices available. That includes cable television, satellite, live streaming and IP platforms ROKU, Amazon FireTV and Android TV, conveniently accessible on your tablets and smartphones. (In fact, over the past several months, more than 500,000 minutes were viewed over the new IP platforms alone! This is in addition to broadcast and cable viewership that this ministry was built upon so many years ago.)
With all of these additional technical opportunities to view content, it’s important that we continue to be a positive spiritual force in the communities we serve. With all the other confusing voices out there, so many offering false hope and dead end solutions to life, it is vital that TLN is easily available in every way possible to point people to the true hope of life in Christ. Your faithful donation this month means that someone, perhaps your own loved one, searching for truth will find it on TLN.
I’m reminded of a disturbing call we received from “John” on one of our ministry phones late one night a few years ago. His voice was slurred as he talked to our prayer partner. He explained that he had felt he no longer had anything to live for and had taken an overdose of sleeping pills, but then realized he did not want to die and needed help. As his voice got weaker, our prayer partner continued to talk and pray with John in a desperate attempt to keep him awake. Finally, our prayer partner was able to get his address and call 911.
Within minutes he could hear the paramedics banging on his door and John’s life was saved! You can imagine how we felt when we learned that John was a minister who had lost his way spiritually and in his deep depression had lost his will to live. I’m happy to report that John found his way back to Christ and went back into the ministry. I’m sure that part of his ministry is being able to help those going through the same spiritual valley he had experienced. I’m forever grateful that we were there for John that night.
John is only one example of the many testimonies we have heard over the years of lives changed and saved through our media ministry. We never know when a person, who is desperate for help, hears a word on TLN that goes deep into their mind and heart and brings life changing hope. And now with so many other electronic means available to us, the Gospel is reaching more needy hearts than ever.
You can also be grateful that John’s life was saved that night because your faithful prayer and financial support made it possible for us to be there when he was so desperate for help. We have always been dependent on the generous support of people like you.You see the urgent need of TLN’s ministry as we reach beyond those barriers and directly into the homes and hearts of those who need the love of Jesus Christ.
Without your prayer and financial support, we simply cannot continue our ministry. I would like to personally ask you to give a generous gift this month. The summer months are especially difficult for us and we need your help. Your gift of $25, $50, $100 dollars or more this month would be a tremendous help and be genuinely appreciated.
Thank you and may God richly bless you.

A Note From Our President – From My Heart to Yours
Many of you will plan celebrations this July. It’s a season for dorm room prep, or a break before new jobs begin. There will be
vacations, family gatherings, wedding showers and weddings. Thirty-nine years ago this month, at a church where we both
began our careers in media, my husband Jack and I pledged to cherish each other and honor Christ as we embarked on our
life together. For us, July is filled with old memories as we gather together with others to make new ones.
July also is filled with festivities that remind us of the independence our country garnered at great sacrifice of men and women seeking freedom to worship. Those rights are defended even now both at home and abroad. As a body of believers, we pray earnestly for religious freedom and for all those who work to defend it. Since we celebrate freedom on July 4th it always takes me to a personal reflection of the incomparable freedom I found many years ago. My personal independence began when I accepted Christ. He freed me from all things that held me back. We are slaves to sin, but “who Christ sets free, is free indeed” (John 8:34-37). He made me whole, and as a faithful partner of our ministry I know He’s made you whole too!
The wholeness we experience in Christ is a gift worth sharing. As you gather this summer for parties, festivities or even a quiet dinner with your most cherished loved ones consider passing on the gift of life found only in a personal relationship with Christ. And let TLN help you: we’ve created a sheet of Share Life cards that can be cut and given away to those you encounter who are in crisis or are in need of hope. Not everyone is comfortable with spiritual conversations one-on-one, so our CareForce prayer ministry can continue what you start. As your friend or family member ponders the seed of truth that you planted, they can use the information on TLN’s Share Life card to contact us anywhere, anytime. Our “anonymous and caring” prayer warriors will help them take the next step on their faith journey.
