We have always made it clear at TLN that we believe the local church is essential to the body of Christ and a vital and integral part of the spiritual growth of every Christian.
But we are also aware that local churches experience some limitations in reaching the unchurched. Walking into a church is expecting a lot from a person who has no experience in a church environment or perhaps has had a negative church experience at some point in their life. Think about it… expecting someone like that to wake up early Sunday morning, get the family dressed, drive to a local church and walk through its doors. It could be challenging.
I’m careful about the doors I walk through and I’m sure you are also. It means giving up control and putting yourself in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable situation.A large number of people – and an even larger number of millennials in our current culture – are unwilling to walk through the doors of a church.
That’s why TLN Christian television is so important in reaching the unchurched. Our ministry has no doors. TLN has the unique opportunity to direct people to Christ in their own living rooms, hotel rooms, coffee shops, etc. at just the moment they need Him most.
Local and national churches make their messages available on TLN, and we’re grateful for their partnership. We go into homes every day and give our viewers an opportunity to experience a dynamic church service, teaching program or other spiritually enriching content on their own terms. They are in control. They can watch as long as they want and as many times as they want in the comfort of their own homes without having to walk through doors into an environment they are unsure of. Programs like In Touch with Charles Stanley, Turning Point with David Jeremiah, Times of Refreshing with Napoleon Kaufman, Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyers, Joseph Prince, Diane Dominguez, Victory Apostolic Church, Pastor Dan Willis and many, many others. We also air specials, like the recent Nehemiah Project YouTube channel. That’s possible because of you – your donations help us cover the costs of these programs and the technology to transmit them via television, cable TV, satellite, IP platforms and our own live internet streams.
As these viewers watch on their own terms, they become comfortable enough with what they are experiencing that the doors become less intimidating and they decide to visit a church. And frequently, that decision leads to a commitment to Christ and to becoming an active, productive part of a church.I’m pleased to say that over the years many pastors have told us that TLN has been a positive part of their church growth.
While TLN is not a church, our ministry is committed to be a blessing to the local churches in the communities we serve. Helping people understand the importance of being part of a local church is a vital part of our mission.
That is also why we have always encouraged our viewers to support their local church financially and consistently. Both the local church and TLN are part of the mission of the body of Christ to reach the lost, as well as serve those who know Christ.
We are dependent on you to continue our ministry. Your prayers and your financial support are vital to not only our success but our future. I appreciate your generosity and I would like to personally ask you for a generous gift this month. Please pray about what God would have you to do.
Thank you as you stand together with us and may God richly bless you.
A Note From Our President – From My Heart to Yours
TLN is seen as a ministry without doors. We offer foundational walls of truth not inhibited by wooden doors or metal gates. The message of Christ and hope found only in Him is available anytime, anywhere through an array of viewing options readily accessible through TLN. Through broadcast, cable, streaming and media platforms such as ROKU, the life-changing message of Christ exists 24/7. Andvia televisions, computers, tablets and smartphones TLN’s message of truth moves freely into family rooms, offices, hospitals and into the very hearts of those who are open to hearing His voice.
Through TLN’s inspirational programs and church partnerships, seekers are introduced to communities of believers they may otherwise never meet. Many individuals are uncomfortable with the “unknowns” of a church, and may have not yet discovered how the family of God builds each other up in Christ. When a viewer responds to Christ’s invitation through the door-less entryway of our media ministry, he/she becomes acquainted with believers who share similar experiences, but have found Christ.
